A TYPICAL MASSAGE SESSION

Every massage session is different, depending on the dog's needs and comfort level at the time.  Generally, however, a massage session will have the following progression.

I'll begin by talking with you about your dog's age, health, medical history, and lifestyle, in order to gather information that will enable me to provide your dog with the most beneficial massage possible.  I will also observe your dog as you walk him or her; this is another way for me to assess your dog's needs.

Next, I'll start the hands-on part of the session with some gentle touch to let your dog meet me at your dog's own pace.

Then, I'll move into light strokes over your dog's body to evaluate your dog's comfort with touch, permit your dog to get used to my touch, and to gather information that I can use during the massage.
The next step is the body of the massage, during which I'll use various strokes and pressures based on your dog's needs and comfort.

I'll then use some gentle stretching to help maintain and increase your dog's flexibility and range of motion.

Finally, I'll conclude with some light strokes to leave your dog calm and relaxed.
